Before fashion became seasonal and disposable, garments were built for purpose — designed to last, to be repaired, to accompany their wearer through years of work and daily life.

Drawing from historical photographs, military archives, industrial catalogues and family albums, Zeughaus Zürich reinterprets forgotten Swiss garments for the present day — from border troops and mountain infantry to miners, railway workers, mechanics, farmers, craftsmen and pilots.

The name “Zeughaus” refers to the historic arsenal — where equipment, uniforms and tools were stored, maintained and issued. More than a military reference, it stands for utility, preparedness, durability and stewardship.
